Alex Avella is an Italian director born 1991. He grows up in Italy from Italian and Spanish parents, living between Barcelona and Milan for most of his youth. He attends the NABA (New Academy of Fine Arts) graduating in 2014 in Media Design & Multimedia Arts.
He develops a taste in direction and post-production effects, and after founding and working as a director in the experimental duo named “To Guys”, directing shorts, music videos and commercials in the scene of Milan, he starts his career as a single freelance director. Since then, he’s worked with the top notch adv agencies such as DLVBBDO, Leo Burnett, McCann, Dude, J. Walter Thompson.
During his career he specialises in compositing and visual effects, focusing his directing career into discovering the possibilities behind the magic of post-production, and recreating an original world in which portray his characters, born from an international point of view.
Mixing up elements and characters from his life experience and from pop culture with which he grow with, narrating them though a dynamic and magic direction is the goal the director sets to his artistic research.
