Maurizio “Cigo” Cigognetti

Maurizio “Cigo” Cigognetti is an Italian-Australian director and DoP specialising in food and tabletop cinematography. He began his career as an Art Director at Young & Rubicam, Ogilvy & Mather and Pirella Gottsche Lowe International, before moving into photography and developing a strong body of advertising work across Europe and beyond.

His background in analogue photography, together with years of experience in high-speed, macro and motion-control techniques, shapes a visual style that blends technical precision with a cinematic sense of intimacy. Cigo’s work focuses on food, textures and the poetry of real moments — brought to life through crafted lighting and a refined storytelling approach.

He divides his time between South Australia’s wine region and Milan, and is represented by Tasty Picture TV (Australia & Asia) and Zero Table Top Milan (Italy).
